Morning has broken....
It was a three part day. The dawn/sunrise, the top the mountain and the descent. And, while the word Rock isn’t ordinarily considered an obscenity, after yesterday’s 3600 ft downward trek I’ve decided it’s another bad four letter word that ends in K. It was the most spectacular morning....it is hard to describe. So, the pictures will have to do the job. But we started at 6:00 am in the dark with our headlamps. We climbed up rocks for about an hour. Here’s what we saw and heard: A mouse and a lizard and enough sticks that looked like snakes that I actually got used to them. Cob webs on plants that glistened in our headlamps. Dew on leaves that made them look like Christmas ornaments...like they had either glitter or were wrapped in holiday cellophane Owls and birds, but no roosters this morning. Maybe We woke Them up.
