In every walk with nature, we receive far more than we seek. John Muir

In every walk with nature, we receive far more than we seek.  John Muir

Not sure how you follow the birth of your newest grandchild.

Maybe just with annotated pictures of the last few days.

We are so thrilled that she is here and everyone is healthy that it may take a few days to get back into the swing of the blog.

This may not be in chronological order but it reflects the last few days.

Just great light coming through the trees.
Can you tell I was glad to be there...where ever it was....
So this guy stopped everybody who went by and gave them (the women) multiple kisses.  And a biscuit.

Sandra, looking like a movie star, toasting Maddy
Jan and Steve toasting Maddy’s birth...maybe looking a little weary, but awfully happy.
Reminds us of Sandy, our dog back at home.  Who may have forgotten about us.
Meet Duncan and Adelaide. They are from Australia.  They were with us on our first night in the albergues.  He is a boat captain and at one time was based out of Ft. Lauderdale.  We asked when they expected to go home and they said June 28, 2020.
This is the third device  we’ve seen.  I think the others had more engineering to them, but this one seems to work too.
 Really good paella.
Bell tower in the city square in Astorga.
A shaded part of our walk today.
Finally at our hotel waiting for a beer.
The landscape today became more varied.
Things here are a bit older than back home.
 Same hotel as last year.
Can you believe someone would hike and smoke at the same time?
You have to love this guy’s sense of humor.  But it may be true.  If our experience is similar to others.
Mary Ann from France heard us talking with John from London, who said he was a hard core Pilgrim because he had (like us) hiked from St. Jean Pied de Port.  She interrupted us and said that she had hiked from Le Puey France....1000 kms.  Steve hiked with her for a while and she was delightful.
We are in Rabanal tonight.  Leaving for Cruz de Ferro at 6:00 am tomorrow and then on to Ponferrada.  Total of 19 miles. Up 1000 feet, down 2700 feet. It will be a long, long day.
