It wasn’t that I drank too much.....

......it was that I drank too little water, which ended up making me a little tipsy last night.

Let me explain....Yesterday, when we started out my water supply was salty...not sure why, but it was.  We purchased new water about five miles down the road and thought the problem was solved. Alas, I think two things came together to cause my problem: I started out drinking salty water and when the water was salt free, I didn’t drink enough of that.   Once we got to our hotel room, I noticed that my feet were swollen.  We stayed in the room with my feet propped up trying to get the swelling down, to minimal effect.  I hadn’t put the dehydration together with the swollen feet, so I wasn’t rehydrating even after we got to the hotel.

When it was time for dinner, we met our Dutch friends for tapas.....Standing up and eating.  My feet were killing me.  And I really didn’t want to eat anything.  So, I didn’t eat but a bite or two for supper.  (Anyone who knows me, knows I never turn down food!)   Steve was in heaven.  Here’s a picture of some of the tapas available.  All fried.  Even fried pork belly.  Delicious!!!

For me this is where the dehydration and the lack of food caused a little problem.  Once we found a bar where we could sit down, I thought a vodka on ice would make me feel better.  And then maybe another....only two, but two vodkas on ice, with two bites of food will make one rather tipsy.  I definitely felt better and Steve laughed at me because apparently I am a happy tipsy person and I was most definitely tipsy.  But it was a lot of fun as evidenced by this video.  (I hope the video works, but it may not....)

This is a down day and I am lucky that I don’t feel the effect of the vodkas.

As we walked around Logrono this morning, I wanted some water.  I stepped in a cafe and bought a small bottle of water.  Then I wanted more so we stepped into a store and I purchased a larger water.  See the picture below.  One of them cost one Euro.  The other cost 2.9 Euros.  Don’t use logic to figure out which one is which.

We also went to the post office today and shipped our “back up” pair of shoes and various and sundry other clothes so we don’t have to haul them around.  Twelve pounds of extras are on their way back home.

Off to Najerra tomorrow.
