Mud-licious and Puddle wonderful... x-rated art....

Quote for the day:  the world is mud-licious and puddle wonderful. ee cummings

Great start to the day:

It rained last night. So there were puddles, big puddles to cross. And the trail was so muddy in places that you could hear the suction of your boots pulling against the mud. A bit treacherous in places too...

We got to see a creative water feature in a private home garden. Can you imagine the conversation between husband and wife about that?

The ground has gone from light brown dirt when we left St John to red clay to dark brown outside the town we will stay in tonight (Castrojieriz).

We met two young Irishmen (in their twenties). They were running 30 km’s a day. Yikes.

There are tons of wind turbine farms along the Camino.

Can you see them in the background behind the cross?

To give you a feel for the albergue life, I took a quick video from last night around 9:00. Another video of one of our coffee stops. Alas after waiting 10 minutes for one of them to upload I canceled it.  Maybe if I get better WiFi in another town, I can try again. Here are two still shots.
                                                           Forest Gump maybe?

Mileage summary: 12.6 today. We passed 200 miles today. Total of 210 miles. We are the ONLY people in the world who use miles. EVERYBODY else uses kilometers.  We are trying to learn to think in km.

Other pictures are below. I tried to get some pictures of fellow travelers: A guy from the east but I don’t know from which country, but he is dressed like it is cold out here.. There are three pictures of him—one from behind, one when he said hello and the other when he had a beer for breakfast!  Linda from Denver. Two other women from Denver.  And other odds and ends.

Off to Fromista tomorrow.
